Here Are The PH Specs Of The 2024 Omoda 5 EV

As launch timing comes closer, upcoming Chinese brand Omoda has shared its vision to be one of the pioneer brands with a full lineup of New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) in the Philippines. Among the first vehicles to be launched this year is the Omoda 5 Electric Vehicle (EV).

True to its tech-oriented theme, the Omoda 5 EV will be equipped with advanced features such as a 16-function ADAS System (Front Collision Avoidance, Front Departure Reminder, Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Detection, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Driver Monitoring System, etc.), a 360-degree view camera and even a Heads Up Display—projected through two 10.25-inch screens on the dash.

Driver and passenger seats enjoy power adjustment (6-way and 4-way, respectively), with seat heating and seat ventilation functions. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto also come standard with the Omoda 5 EV. Each passenger of the cabin enjoys a one-pinch auto function for all windows of the vehicle, while the driver has full command with remote start, keyless entry and remote switch for air-conditioning—all with a push of a button on the key fob. The cabin is equipped with an 8-speaker Sony Sound System, three high-speed USB ports, two power outlets, and a wireless charging pad for mobile phones.

The Omoda 5 EV will be powered by a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a liquid-cooled system, with power output estimated at 204 horsepower (150 kW) and around 400 Nm of torque. Range of the fully charged vehicle will yield 300 to 450 kilometers. An AC/DC charging module comes standard with the car, along with a portable 220V charger.

Lastly, the Omoda 5 has scored five stars in its most recent EURO-NCAP test, cementing the brand’s dedication to safety. Along with the multiple active and passive features of the vehicle, the Omoda 5 EV gives its users total peace of mind.

Pricing of the Omoda 5 EV expected to be very competitive (reported below P 2-million) since it will enjoy the benefits of the government’s tax exemption program for Electric Vehicles. Moreso, the Omoda 5 EV will be exempt from the number coding scheme, under Republic Act 11697 or the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA).

The Omoda 5 EV is scheduled to be launched by the 4th quarter of this year—same timing as the Omoda and Jaecoo brand launch.

  1. Below 2M for an EV w/ 5 * Euro NCAP rating, now I'm curious.

Any news about Volkswagen PH bringing in the ID line? ID3 is selling for around 2.1M via grey market. Prices can be further lowered thru economies of scale.

  3. I'm genuinely impressed with the detailed attention Omoda has given to the specs of their upcoming 5 EV, particularly the ADAS system and comfort features like the heated and ventilated seats. The estimated power output, torque, and range clearly shows the brand's commitment to performance and efficiency, while their five-star EURO-NCAP rating and the comprehensive safety features certainly inspire confidence. The fact that the pricing is expected to be competitive due to government incentives for EVs is an added bonus, as is the exemption from the number coding scheme. I'm eagerly anticipating the 4th quarter launch; the Omoda 5 EV truly seems to be a game-changer for the electric vehicle industry in the Philippines.

  4. I test drove an early prototype of the Omoda 5 EV during a trip to China last year, and I was genuinely impressed with its advanced features, especially the 16-function ADAS System. It felt like the future of compact SUVs! The dual 10.25-inch screens and wireless charging were particularly game-changers for me during my journey.

  5. The Omoda 5 EV's impressive tech features and competitive price point are undoubtedly its selling points. I remember test-driving a prototype last summer, and the seamless integration of the 16-function ADAS System and the 360-degree view camera truly stood out. It's exhilarating to see China's Omoda brand pushing boundaries in the Philippines' EV market.
